Parents, Help Your Kids Get Rid Of Clutter!

Has your child's room become a disaster area because of too much stuff? Then maybe it is time to get rid of clutter.
- Start by cleaning out closets, book bags and that hodgepodge of toys.
- Request your child's help in digging through that mountain of toys to get rid of toys that are no longerbeing used.
- Check the clothes closet and get rid of clothing that he has outgrown.
I know that this can sometimes be a difficult time for children. I can hear screams of, "No, I like that toy! That's my favorite shirt! Why do I have to give my things away?"
The time has come for a lesson on sharing our good fortune with the many kids in the world who are less fortunate.
- Explain that some parents don't make enough money to buy their kids toys and pretty clothes.
- Discuss why we need to share with others and why we need to help the less fortunate.
- Make them aware that by giving away their toys they will make another kid very happy.
Let your child help in making the decision as to which of his toys can be given away, but make it very clear as to how many toys must go. Stick to your guns and make sure he gives away the previously decided number of toys.
He can go with you when you drop off the toys at a local shelter. You both will feel good knowing that you have done something good for someone else. Bingzy would say that it is a loving thing to do.
