Her name was Ms. Gaskin and she taught algebra. I had a hard time in school, especially in any subject in Math. Anytime someone did not make a passing grade on a test, she allowed a person to retake the test as many times as they could, as long as they would made tutorial after school. There were weeks where I would stay after school every day just to help myself know the material better. I am now a 2nd grade teacher and I try to teach my kids that very same concept that it was okay to make mistakes, just learn from them. She meant business but had a kind heart.
