An Internet Browser for Kids

An internet browser just for kids? Well we found one that may just be of interest to both teachers and parents.
So last week we took a look at glubble.com, a plug-in that helps to filter content for kids using the firefox browser. However, there are other options that may better suit your needs. Introducting, www.kidzui.com, a completely self contained browser targeted at kids ages 3-12.
So what makes KidZui so interesting? Well for starters, they take a different approach to finding great content and videos for kids. They employ content editors (parents, teachers, guardians, etc) who find and recommend sites that are friendly to kids. Once approved, the site becomes apart of their ever growing list of sites, currently over 600k, that can viewed from their browser.
What KidZui is not is a content creator itself, rather it pulls content from a number of sites (kid approved of course) In my opinion, this can be pretty effective way of finding kid friendly sites. And the list is growing quickly.
KidZui provides a number of categories for kids to browse and the subject matter changes according to the age of the child. Parents can optionally add or delete content.
Benefits:
- Content is reviewed by teachers and parents so your kids can surf independently.
- Kids can have a place to experience the internet just for themselves.
- Over 600k sites currently approved and growing.
- Makes browsing the Internet safe, fun and easy for kids from 3-12.
- Get regular updates to your kids activities online via email or online reports.
- Simple and effective parental control.
- The service is free.
So if your looking for a safe internet environment for kids, whether your a parent, teacher or guardian, you may want to have a look at KidZui, the internet browser for kids.
Another Tuesday Treat from me to you.
