Check out http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/ and find hundreds of educational games for kids to use online. And yes, these games and activities are free! I clicked on animal jigsaws and had lots of fun putting puzzles together. There are easy ones as well as more difficult ones, appropriate for various grade levels.
I am currently working with a student with multiple disabilities. He’s in a wheelchair, and can not run and play like other kids. I had him click on the animal jigsaws, and after putting an easy puzzle together he was hooked. Being able to put the puzzles together was a big step forward. Now, he can click on the sight and complete puzzles and entertain himself when family members are unable to assist.
The Hidden Animal Games was a success too. You need to select an animal. The task is to find the animal you selected in a hidden picture. When the picture is shown your job is to click on the hidden animal. You will find out if you successfully found the hidden animal. Whether you were correct or not, you will be able to read and find out more information about the animal you selected.
These are just two of the many, many exciting places to visit on this website. I will be visiting this site often, and will share my findings with you in the near future.
