Fun Games For Toddlers

I found a treasure cove of great games to play with toddlers.  Go to  www.toddlertoddler.com and check out the many ways you can have fun with your toddler while teaching him/her important concepts.  As a former kindergarten teacher, I was really impressed with the number of educational yet fun activities available on this site. The games are inexpensive and great teaching tools.

Crib Sheet Parachute Fun!

Here's a wonderful game to play with your toddler while using a simple fitted crib sheet.  Let your toddler hold one side and you hold the other.  Now flap the sheet in the air, and both of you go under it.  Or have your toddler hold on while you raise it 'up" in the air and "down" to the floor.  Teach him "up" and "down"!  You can go around in circles or in and out.  Your toddler may have some ideas at what to do also!  Lots of fun and all you need is a fitted crib sheet.

Balancing Act!

Place a plastic cup upside down on the floor and then put one of those disposable tin foil pizza pans on top so that it balances.  Let your toddler put some magnetic letters on the tray to see how many she can put on before it falls down with a clatter!  Do it again and again!  Each time your child puts a letter on the pan, you can count or say the name of the letter or the color of the letter.  (If you don't have letters you can use building blocks also!)

Check out Indoor Toddler Hopscotch. This looks like a great game to play while stuck inside on a rainy day.  All you need is floor space and masking tape.  Use the hopscotch game to teach  numbers 1 – 5 or you might want to teach higher numbers.

ToddlerToddler not only has some exciting games available, but they also provide craft activities, and helpful parenting tips.  So go ahead and check out www.toddlertoddler.com, and let us know what you think.
