I know several young people who give me hope for tomorrow. They make me believe that there will be an abundance of responsible men and women to step into the leadership of this country. They make me believe that when the time comes they will answer the call and will step into the shoes of their fathers and grandfathers, mothers and grandmothers.

There are other young people who make me know that there will always be an element in our society who gravitate toward the lowest of our common denominators. I think it depends less on race and country of origin than it does on an innate or instilled love for life and for contributing to others as we share this human experience.

Many born into advantage may squander their privileges, while others will rise far above their station and make this a better world through the use of their God given gifts.

They must be given the opportunity to explore the quirks of their generation and the immense challenges that lie before them. Teach your little ones well, and give them a daily dose of love and affection. They are our future.
