Yet there's still a way to fit in some quick, healthy, and nutritious meals for the kids. Go to www.funology.com/inthekitchen and check out these fun, "Yummy Recipes" for :vegetables, drinks, breakfast, snacks, and even recipes for your pet. These recipes will prove to be a big help in planning kitchen menus that will be enjoyed by all.
For example:
Ants On A Log
You will need:
Celery, Peanut butter, Raisins
Instructions:
1. Have a grown-up wash and cut the celery into 4 inch pieces.
2. Have a grown-up use a butter knife to spread the peanut butter.
3. Have a child add the ants (raisins).
Enjoy!!!
On a rainy Saturday, invite some neighborhood kids over to make a fun and simple recipe. Play games or watch a movie.
Potato Chips
You will need:
2 Russet potatoes, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, knife, large bowl, and 2 cookie sheets
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Wash and scrub potatoes and then cut into thin, round slices.
3. Put the cut potatoes in a large bowl with the olive oil. Mix until well coated.
4. Pour a little extra olive oil on the cookie sheet and place the potatoes on it.
5. Bake the chips until golden. Flip chips over after 15 minutes.
6. Let them cool and EAT!
A healthy alternative to the packaged ones and great with any sandwich!!!
There are many recipes that will wet the appetite and provide nutritious as well as fun filled kitchen experiences. Be sure to let the kids help in the planning and cooking. When they grow up they will have great cooking ideas to share with their family, and hopefully will not dread the kitchen. And don't forget to teach them to share in the cleanup, because that's important too!
