                            What an exciting time!

Our nation once again passes the power from one leader to the next.  The smooth and peaceful transition stands as an example to the world of what democracy is all about.

This is a wonderful time to talk with your children about how unique our country is in this regard.  Help them to understand that they have many opportunities that millions don’t have, simply because they live in this great country.

The news and overheard conversations are filled with doom and gloom.  Your children may worry and even have sleepless nights, because they sense the collective fear that is out there.

Many families of all economic levels are experiencing family problems because of financial burdens. Children have a sense of helplessness and it scares them to see their parents so worried.  Make sure that your kids are reassured that things will work out in the long run if we all work together.

They need to hear encouraging words and so do we adults.  Look for the positive and pass it on to them.

A spirit of hope is one reason Barack Obama has been passed this torch of leadership.  People want to believe that he has the energy, the drive, the intelligence, and vision to help us in this time of crisis. Let’s support him with our best wishes and prayers.
