Suessville: Summer Fun for Kids
By Lisa Love • May 23rd, 2011 • Category: tuesday treatsSchool is out and kids are looking for something fun to do. For many years, children have enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss books. I have discovered a site that will help kids find more ways to enjoy the books written by Dr. Suess. Check out www.seussville.com and take time to explore some of the following games.
One Fish Two Fish Concentration. Kids will have lots of fun matching the pictures to each other. This game will certainly help to build concentration skills while developing the ability to match like objects.
The LORAX Sticker Game. Loads of fun! You must place the missing stickers to complete the pattern! Success comes easy during the first rounds of activities and you are congratulated for your success. Keep playing because each new round gets a little more challenging and you will have to work a little harder to gain success.
Fox in Socks Word Puzzle Game. You will need to rearrange the words the tricky fox has scrambled to describe the picture shown. This is a great game to improve word building and comprehension skills.
The GRINCH Grow your Heart Game. You will help the Grinch grow his heart by delivering presents to Whoville! Everyone likes to give as well as receive gifts, so this game will certainly appeal to the little ones.
Parents, we need to keep our kids busy reading and being read to during the summer. As a former teacher, I know how important it is to keep the mind active during the long summer vacation. Stimulating the mind with reading, math, language and other projects will help prepare children for a more successful school year.
Wishing you a successful summer!
