Music and Autism

Through my many years as an elementary school teacher I found music to be a great tool for teaching basic skills. I created songs as a means of teaching reading, math, and language. I found that the children responded to and seemed to grasp the skills easier and with a great deal of enthusiasm.

The diagnosis of autism has been estimated to occur in as many as 1 in 150 individuals, is four times more prevalent in males than females, and has been growing at an estimated rate of 100-200 percent every five years.
