		<description>Thank you Shara,  As Emerson said, we are teaching all the time whether we know it or not.  Children don&#039;t miss much and they certainly don&#039;t miss when we are unfair or inconsistent.  Mixed messages are confusing and harmful.  When we don&#039;t react to their inappropriate behavior we are sending a message as much as when we correct them.  It is all about focus and what we value.  Sounds as if we agree! We are born with open hearts, right, and those can be fostered and massaged in order to keep them open. As parents and teachers, we need to not just TALK about loving others but DEMONSTRATE it by our words, thoughts and actions. Great article - thanks!</description>
